HORSES STILL IN TRAINING

We have Mustangs!!

At the present time (2010) there are believed to be over 12,000 wild horses on the Yakama reservation in Washington state.  A comprehensive management plan has been developed but because of budget constraints and poor markets for horses, only limited management is possible. However, approximately 500 horses have been captured by the program in the last 5 years. In June 2020, NSHR received 9 of these majestic horses from a hoarding case out of Texas emaciated, wild and untrained. They are now thriving in our equine rehabilitation program and soon they will be cleared for adoption.
